Thinking About: Emmy Awards Fashion

Anna Pacquin wore this stunning Alexandra McQueen dress and gets super props from me. Love the gold shoulder detail – almost reminds me a little bit of something Beyonce would wear in a video clip. The only thing that lets this dress down is the shape and style of the rest of the dress – it’s just a little boring. Would have been nicer if it was a different material~ Satin-type materials just remind me of bad ball dresses…

Always a favourite of mine, Kim Kardashian looks like an Egyptian queen in this Marchesa dress! She looks stunning, although I’m not convinced that white is her colour, and think this may have looked a wee bit better on someone like Eva Longoria. Love her hair though, and her pout – this girl sure knows how to pose

A big Hills fan, I thought I’d comment on Lo Bosworth’s dress (ps. Were Lauren, Audrina or Whitney even there? Seems odd that just Lo would go…) Anyway I think she looks great – boy, has she lost weight too!! Her dress screams first lady fashion inspired to me – but still think it looks great – maybe not for the Emmy’s, but it’s simple and chic – a nice change from all the OTT dresses a lot of the stars seem to wear.

Finally I think that Vampire Diaries star (love this show too… what a TV geek!!) Emma Nuellechriqui, looks gorg! Still loving the nude and skin tones this season, and especially as New Zealand heads into summer, I think we’ll see a lot more of them. Hair is simple and off the face, love it.

Terrific Thought: Black and Gold Mini Dresses

I think these are perfect for a night out on the town, when you want to look amazing, but in a subtle kind of “I look good and I’m not even trying” way. Just take a look at Jessica Alba and Miranda Kerr .

I think this because its just a LBD which everyone has, and most girls (well in Auckland anyway) seem to opt for a black dress for a night out, because as everyone knows – black make you look slimmer which gives you more confidence :) But the secret to this LBD is the gold – it gives it a little something different to make you stand out from the crowd, without having to wear a fluro dress!

I particularly like the black mini dress with sleeve style that has seemed to pop up all over the catwalks this season. The below sass and bide dress is a prime example of the magnificence of a black and gold dress.
